BRENT & HOPE HARRELL – LEAD PASTOR

Harrells2018In 1996, Brent, who was new to Calvary Chapel Boise, took a short-term Engage Truth mission trip to Europe, and stayed behind in Motebelluna to help plant Italy’s first Calvary Chapel. A compassion, concern, and calling for Italy grew and in 1999 the Harrells moved to Rome to plant a Bible-teaching church with the goal of taking God’s Word and the gospel of grace to the lost. View the most recent video update.

kenya outreach

Kenya2018Brent Harrell, Pastor of Calvary Chapel Rome, prayed for Kenya for 17 years before God opened the door for him to travel there. Now, Brent, his wife Hope, and the fellowship they lead, partner with various ministries in Kenya to help better equip native pastors to better minister to their churches and in turn, their country. Today the Harrells, along with ministry partners in Kenya, care for widows and orphans, conduct conferences, and provide both churches and pastors with essential resources such as theological training, Bibles, study Bibles, concordances, Bible software, and commentaries. By sharing the Gospel of our perfect King, Jesus Christ, it is our hope to bring revival to another very desolate land.

Materialism, humanism, and idolatrous worship are great cultural strongholds in Italy. Most people are cynical and disillusioned when it comes to God. Spiritual bondage grips the nation. But the greater the darkness, the brighter the light shines. More than 20 years ago, Calvary Boise sent Brent and Hope Harrell to Rome. They minister to some of Italy’s most economically impoverished and spiritual deprived people and have seen God do marvelous things. Seven churches are established. A Bible College trains new believers for the mission field. Pray that God will send more laborers and will continue to call and equip local missionaries and pastors. The fields remain ripe.
