DAILY PRAYER REQUESTS

Now it came to pass in those days, that He went out to the mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.  And when it was day, He called His disciples to Himself; and from them He chose twelve whom also He named apostles.  Luke 6:12-13.

We sometimes think that talking to other Christians and being busy with Christian activity, especially when we are sharing the Word or doing good works (such as visiting the needy or  caring for the sick,) are substitutes for spending time alone with God in quiet times of prayer. We hurry off to church with but a few minutes of private prayer, allowing precious time to be absorbed in social pleasures. We think we don’t have time to be alone with God, or that it would be rude to take time away from the people in our lives. However, often excusing ourselves from the rush of life for needful communion with God and His word might be the best witness to those who take up the time we could be spending with God. How often we rush from one thing to another without any taking time to renew our strength by spending time with the Lord. We must be careful lest we fall into the trap of thinking that God cares more for the quantity than the quality of our service.

Prayer Requests:

  • Pray for all blended families to experience healing.

  • Thank you for your prayers for Caleb who has been struggling since his dad passed away and has been very ill.  He is now back home from the hospital and is improving.  His uncle Steve also is doing well, working steadily and is closer with Jesus.  Please continue to pray for our family. We have experienced yet another death---our cousin John’s wife Kathy.  Steve is helping how he can.  Join us in thanking Jesus and praising Him.

  • Pray for a young woman who, for more than a year, has been stalked by a man she met in college. Pray that he will find Jesus and be liberated from the spirit of deception that has enslaved him. Pray for her safety in the meantime. Pray that the court system will respond appropriately.

  • Please pray for Kayla, a single mom with an infant daughter. She has severe kidney stones and is facing surgery. Pray that the Lord will provide comfort during this hard time and that she will draw closer to Him throughout the ordeal. Pray too for her baby who has had some issues with her ears. Pray that her treatment will be successful.

  • Pray for Rod’s business and the contract attorneys to agree so it can get signed soon.  Pray for Rod and me to walk each moment in the Spirit.

  • Pray for a total healing of Carrie’s left hand.

Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us, and if we know that He hears us, we know we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. - I John 5:14-15
