Location: 123 Auto Dr., Boise, Idaho 83709Category: Women's Ministry
This event derives its inspiration from the women’s auxiliaries that formed during WW2 to help the war effort. Aux is short for Auxiliary. It simply means to provide additional help or support.
Oftentimes you would see posters or stickers in the windows of American towns and homes with a big V on it, which stood for "Victory Home." If you had this sticker in your window it meant that you were working toward victory against the Axis powers ( the enemy) by supplying food, resources, or time to help the war effort. What an awesome spiritual picture of the Christian life, our life!
We are called to make our homes and lives Victory Homes for the cause of the gospel of Christ. We are given things to steward and care for that God Himself has placed in our hands. This covers all of life, from the practical, everyday mundane things like knowing how to cook, clean, and manage time to spiritual disciplines that lay a foundation for everything else. There is no school or degree we can acquire to be a mom, daughter, wife, or sister, and without help and training it caneasily become overwhelming and feel hopeless at times. Our culture has drastically shifted from being a tribal and home-centered one to an independent, DIY, internet, self-taught society that leaves many without a clue about how to manage a home, balance life, or teach theology to a three year old. With The Aux our hope is to equip women to fight their own battles both practically and spiritually.
Cost is $5 per person. Pre-registration is required. Childcare provided.
